Lucca Comics & Games returns from October 28 to November 1, 2026, transforming the historic city of Lucca into one of the world’s most important meeting points for comics, video games, animation, cosplay, fantasy, music and pop culture.

The 2026 edition will be particularly special, as the festival celebrates its 60th anniversary. Under the theme LEGACY, Lucca Comics & Games 2026 will look back at six decades of creativity while focusing on the artists, stories and communities that will shape its future.

Visitors can expect five days of exhibitions, live shows, gaming areas, concerts, presentations, exclusive previews, cosplay events and opportunities to meet internationally renowned artists and creators.

Lucca60: A Celebration of 60 Years

The theme of Lucca Comics & Games 2026 is LEGACY, representing the cultural and creative heritage passed from one generation to the next.

For 60 years, the festival has brought together people through comics, games, imagination and storytelling. The anniversary edition will celebrate this history while exploring how pop culture continues to evolve through new ideas, technologies and communities.

The official Lucca60 poster has been created by Claudio Castellini, one of Italy’s most respected international comic artists. Presented at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, it is the first meta-poster in the history of the festival and will become part of the permanent collection of Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca.

Go Nagai at Lucca Comics & Games 2026

Legendary Japanese manga artist Go Nagai will be one of the major guests at Lucca Comics & Games 2026.

The creator of iconic works including Mazinger Z, Devilman and Grendizer, known in Italy as Goldrake, has influenced generations of manga and anime fans around the world.

Go Nagai will appear at the festival from October 28 to October 30, taking part in public events and special celebrations organised in collaboration with J-POP Manga. His visit will also coincide with the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Japan.

Hideki Kamiya Comes to Lucca

Video game fans will have the opportunity to see Hideki Kamiya, one of the most influential game designers in the history of the industry.

Kamiya has worked on celebrated titles such as Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Ōkami, Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101. His career at Capcom, Clover Studio and PlatinumGames helped redefine action games and inspired developers around the world.

Hideki Kamiya will attend Lucca Comics & Games on Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30, 2026.

Yōko Kanno’s First Appearance in Italy

Lucca Comics & Games 2026 will welcome composer and music producer Yōko Kanno for her first appearance in Italy.

Kanno is internationally known for creating music for anime, films, television and video games. Her work includes unforgettable soundtracks for Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Macross Frontier.

Yōko Kanno will be in Lucca on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, making her appearance one of the most anticipated musical events of the festival.

Frank Miller at Lucca60

Celebrated comic book writer, artist and filmmaker Frank Miller will be another major guest at the 60th anniversary edition.

Known for his powerful noir style and uncompromising storytelling, Miller is the creator or co-creator of works including Sin City, 300, The Dark Knight Returns and Daredevil: Born Again.

Frank Miller will be present throughout all five days of Lucca Comics & Games 2026, in collaboration with Panini Comics.

Finley Live in Lucca

Italian pop-punk band Finley will perform live at Piazzale Verdi on Friday, October 30.

The concert follows the successful anniversary tour celebrating 20 years since the release of their debut album, Tutto È Possibile. Fans can expect a high-energy live performance featuring some of the band’s best-known songs.

Pokémon Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary

Pokémon will celebrate its 30th anniversary with special activities and experiences during Lucca Comics & Games 2026.

The Pokémon Play Lab will move to the renovated Palestra Bacchettoni, a real gymnasium located in the eastern area of Lucca. The new location will offer an immersive space for aspiring Pokémon Trainers, players and families.

Further Pokémon anniversary events and activities are expected to be announced closer to the festival.

Luke & Clea – A Quest for Legacy

To celebrate its diamond anniversary, Lucca Comics & Games is also launching an original 8-bit pixel game titled Luke & Clea – A Quest for Legacy.

The project follows previous anniversary celebrations that included books, animated films and original comic stories. More information about the game and how visitors can experience it will be revealed in the coming months.
