Mariah Carey at Lucca Summer Festival 2027

The Lucca concert brings together one of the defining voices of contemporary pop music and a festival renowned for hosting major international performers.

Carey's recordings have shaped several generations of pop and R&B, from the soaring vocals of "Vision of Love" and "Emotions" to the romantic ballads "Hero", "Without You" and "My All". Her catalogue also includes the hip-hop-influenced productions of "Fantasy", "Honey" and "Heartbreaker", alongside the global success of "We Belong Together".

Her performances move between these different musical styles, combining vocal showcases with rhythmic arrangements and material from across her recording career.

The 2027 edition of Lucca Summer Festival also marks the festival's 30th anniversary, adding another dimension to an event already distinguished by its historic surroundings and international programme.

New Music, Recent Performances and Classic Hits

Mariah Carey enters 2027 following the release of Here for It All, her sixteenth studio album, issued in September 2025. The project marked her return to original studio material after Caution in 2018 and introduced songs including "Type Dangerous", "Sugar Sweet" and "Nothing Is Impossible".

The album reflects her continued interest in contemporary R&B while drawing on the soul, gospel and pop influences that have long been central to her music.

In July 2026, Carey also celebrated the 30th anniversary of her acclaimed album Daydream with an expanded edition featuring rare recordings, remixes and previously unreleased material. Originally released in 1995, Daydream includes "Fantasy", "Always Be My Baby" and "One Sweet Day", some of the best-known recordings of her career.

Her recent concerts provide an indication of the musical range audiences might encounter. Performances during 2025, including appearances at Brighton Pride and Sandringham in England, featured songs such as "Emotions", "Dreamlover", "Hero", "Fantasy", "Always Be My Baby", "Touch My Body" and "We Belong Together", alongside newer material.

These performances offer useful context rather than a confirmed setlist for Lucca, where the final repertoire has not been announced.

Mariah Carey's Recent Connection with Italy

Italian audiences saw Mariah Carey on a particularly prominent stage in February 2026, when she appeared at the opening ceremony of the Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games at San Siro Stadium.

For the occasion, she performed the Italian classic "Nel blu, dipinto di blu", widely known as "Volare", followed by "Nothing Is Impossible" from Here for It All. The appearance introduced one of her newest songs to an international television audience while creating a direct musical connection with Italy.

Her previous Italian concert history also includes an April 2016 performance in Milan during the Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour, which brought her greatest hits back to European stages.

The July 2027 appearance in Lucca provides another opportunity to experience her music in Italy, this time in an open-air festival environment.

Mura di Lucca – A Historic Outdoor Concert Setting

The concert takes place at Mura di Lucca – Viale Carducci, an outdoor venue beside the monumental walls surrounding the city's historic centre.

Unlike a conventional indoor arena, the festival setting places large-scale live music alongside one of Tuscany's most recognizable architectural landmarks. Lucca's preserved Renaissance fortifications provide a distinctive backdrop for summer concerts, with the surrounding city offering historic streets, restaurants and cultural attractions.

Over its history, Lucca Summer Festival has welcomed artists including Elton John, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, James Brown and Ray Charles, establishing an international reputation for its concert programme.

Mariah Carey's July appearance continues that tradition, bringing her extensive pop and R&B repertoire to a venue closely associated with major summer performances in Italy.
