What the Lucca Summer Festival is
The Lucca Summer Festival has been bringing international touring artists to the Tuscan town of Lucca every July since 1998. Concerts are staged inside the walled city — on Piazza Napoleone, the square at its centre, and on the Mura Storiche, the Renaissance walls that ring the old town — which is what gives the festival its character: stadium-scale names playing to an audience standing on a piazza or under the trees of a 16th-century rampart.
It is not a single-weekend festival with one ticket. Each concert is its own night with its own date and its own tickets, spread across July, so the line-up is announced name by name over the months leading up to the summer.
The 2027 edition
Take That are the first name announced for 2027: they play the Mura Storiche on Monday 20 July 2027 as part of their Dreamers Tour. The rest of the 2027 line-up has not been announced yet — the festival releases names gradually through the autumn and winter.

Who has played here
Recent editions give a fair idea of the festival's range: Ed Sheeran, Eric Clapton, Kiss, Lenny Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Pet Shop Boys, Scorpions, Bryan Adams, Katy Perry, Neil Young, John Legend, Zucchero and Tom Jones have all played Lucca in the last few summers, alongside classical and jazz nights.
Lucca is small — the walled centre is walkable end to end in twenty minutes — so a concert night usually turns into a day in the town.
