From La Bussola to La Prima Estate
Bussoladomani was created in 1976 by Versilian impresario Sergio Bernardini, who already ran the legendary La Bussola nightclub at nearby Focette. Conceived as the largest tensile-roofed theatre in Italy, the original tendone hosted summer seasons that brought stars such as Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Miles Davis, Mina, Patty Pravo and Renato Zero to the Versilia coast, making Lido di Camaiore one of Italy's most glamorous live-music destinations through the 1970s and 1980s.
After a long decline, the Municipality of Camaiore restored the site and reopened it as Parco Bussoladomani, a 75,000-square-metre urban park 50 metres from the sea, with an arena able to host more than 30,000 spectators. Since the 2020s the venue has been the home of the La Prima Estate festival, alongside individual shows by major Italian and international artists each summer.
